Important Questions I Will Ask You

1. Do you have other cats and how many?

2. Are they altered? It will be necessary for me to fix the kitten prior to shipment if you do not already have your pets neutered or spayed, unless you are a recognized breeder.

3. Are they kittens or adults? Do the current adult residents acclimate well to other pets?

4. If you are replacing a loved one, was it due to illness or age?

5. If so, what was the illness? FIP? FLV? Accident? Etc...

6. What is your living situation. Apartment or home? Near a main road? If you allow your cat to run out of doors, (which I won't argue against) this will void the 30 day health guarantee.

7. If you purchase a Bengal from me as a pet, are you prepared to spend the money necessary to spay or neuter it? Spaying (females) runs approx. $70. Nueutering (males) is approx. $35 to $55.

Important Questions You Should Ask Breeders

1. What are the realistic traits I should expect of the breed?

2. What is the scope of the purchase agreement? Does it provide a health guarantee? For how long? How much of the deposit is refundable if at all?

3. What are the grooming requirements for the breed?

4. How big does the cats of your breed get?

5. What do you feed your cats, what would you recommend and why?

6. Are there any genetic problems that affect this breed?

7. How many stud cats are in your cattery? How many Queens? (What you are looking for are how many cats does this breeder attempt to manage.

8. How often does the breeder produce litters? Do you want a breeder that has 2 to 3 litters available at a time? How does that breeder manage socializing more than one at a time?
